Backyard Pleasures

A few of my favorite plants from the garden today…

1. Okra Blossom (though we have yet to eat any of the okra (you can see how huge it is) I LOVE it’s flowers.

2. New Rose-Dame de Couer
Alli-translation please? This is a specimen rose which means it’s supposed to be showy. It’s pretty delicate and it smells really good.

3. Sunflower Seedlings-I planted a row of sunflower seeds, these four came up right together and then I have 2 more in a span of about 5 feet…not sure how that happened…but I can’t wait to see their pretty faces!

  1. I’m so jealous that you can actually maintain a garden and grow beautiful things with it! They look fantastic!

  2. Lookin’ good! Our growing season is coming to a close, and here you are starting a new one! I’m still waiting for pictures of Ritchie’s new truck, please. 🙂 I know you’re not one to brag, I just want to see what it looks like!

  3. What a green thumb you have! Your plants look wonderful. Just remember, the best way to eat okra is fried. It may not be healthy, but it’s sure good. Although fresh okra is pretty slimy isn’t it?

  4. I love the rose. I suspect it’s name may mean something like “Lady of Heart”, although “heart” in French is spelled a little differently I think so I may be totally off base…we’ll have to get the definitive from Alli.

  5. Lookin good, sister. Aubrey is excited to come and pick all your produce again sometime soon. Maybe once we move to SA in our RV.
